Nancy R Key Note Thoughts

Growth with learning does not occur without a loss of confidence- teacher and student alike when using new technology.

Face the loss of confidence through different questions because technology enables personalized learning.

How can teachers have all the answers when the Internet is involved?

How and when are students questions indicators of their passions?

  1. I think the loss of confidence something that extends beyond technology. It's just easy to use technology as an example of the issue. When teachers and students fail with technology, it is often easiest to rationalize the failure by thinking or stating "I'm just not good with technology". It's as if the ability to use technology is an instinctual set of skills. This could not be further from the truth. Nobody is born wired to be more successful than anyone else with technology or any other subject. The difference is more related to attitude than to intelligence. Those who are successful with learning (technology included) have an attitude where small failures are expected and part of the learning process. These people try, fail, and then make adjustments. Their ultimate success is due more to the constantly evolving process and less to born in skills.
